That gives me some piece of mind that the system is functioning as designed but I'm at a loss as to how to trust the various filling stations to follow filling instructions. Just something to be aware of, I guess. Thanks for the feedback Yeah. It's a little scary that they are doing that - they rea...

Gas gauge not working?

Check out this thread. Post #9 describes how to remove the tank and replace the float. However the pump, float, and sender are all one unit - so the part is expensive. :( Otherwise it's actually a fairly straightforward job, though you do have to drop the fuel tank to do it.

Re: Propane expansion

This problem probably wouldn't happen if the filling stations stopped at 80% capacity as recommended. I think that sums it up right there. They aren't supposed to go above 80% exactly for the reasons of expansion. The good news is that it sounds like the safety systems are working as designed. Obvi...

It looks like spayallpets had the same problem with the computer. :( They were able to get one from Airstream, if I understood what they were saying.

Okay, the coil fan we determined was something only mine has - it was apparently added by a previous owner. If you have time, would you mind taking pictures of the control panels you described? I'd like to add them to that reference page. But...somewhere there has to be a way to switch between the c...

Leak in the bunk...

Well as a result of this leak , I discovered some standing water in the bunk today. I pulled one piece of the particleboard out with the intention of replacing it, only to discover that there was some standing water on the fiberglass shell. D'oh. I sopped up the water as best I could, and I have som...

No, the switch and red light indicate the antenna booster is working. The cable/antenna switch in mine is visible in the picture on this page. Is yours set up differently?

Well, it's done! It was actually fairly easy to do - the old stuff was still pliable (cracked and broken, but pliable). Took me about two hours. And, of course, here's the writeup and pictures (you knew that was coming, right? :) ). I did find that the original installer had overtightened some of th...

The fridge and the outlets are on the same circuit, so I'm wondering if you have some sort of wiring problem. The fridge should work at least as well on 110 volt as it does on gas. The switch in the back wall should only switch between the AC and the microwave, and it shouldn't have any effect on th...

Re: Differences between the years of campers

Haha! Good point! Has having the longer cab above you ever been an invonvenience for you? Nope. It's actually kind of nice both for the sun thing and the fact that it keeps some rain off the windshield (you still need windshield wipers, but not as much). One downside: bugs get under the overhang an...

Re: Differences between the years of campers

Well, if it wasn't then I'm back to square one as far as which year to look for! :) Although I wonder if on the earlier models the view to the sky is blocked considerably having the upper cab there... Anyway, thanks for the info skater. While driving, you mean? There's some blockage, yeah, but on t...

Re: Differences between the years of campers

We should document the differences between the years. I'd like to write it up as an article when we get the information compiled, and add pictures. This is a long term project, obviously. :) Corrections, additional information, please post below! Everyone can contribute to this one. :) 1989 - 1999 ...

Thanks, tor the update. I don't think I want to take the stove out to put the bypass in. That would open another can of worms. SkipJ Taking out the stove was for working on the shower faucet - and the more I think about it, the less I think that's correct. There must be another way to get to the sh...

Re: GPS

Anyone using a GPS navigation system? I'm thinking of getting one, but I'm wondering if the overhanging roof above the windshield would cause problems with satellite reception. Nope. I don't have a navigation-type GPS, but a handheld one that you'd use for hiking, geocaching, and the like, and ther...
