Thanks so much, Skater. I just did a forum search for "selenoid" and it sounds like that is probably the problem. Can the average person change this, or should my mechanic do it? Wow, this forum sure is a huge help!

Can this be right?

Our house battery is completely dead, drained by leaving in some fuses that I normally take out but forgot. Figured it out when I went to turn on the Fantastic Fan and it wouldn't run. So I started the van, drove it around for a little while, and tried to start the generator. In the past, I was able...

I called Fiamma, and it sounds like I need a swivel joint. So I ordered that for drop-and-ship. Hope it's the right part!

Furnace Fan blowing

We drove the van up to our cabin this weekend, and when we went out one morning we could hear a fan going. It was coming from the furnace. The thermostat was "Off", so I'm not sure why this was happening. Could be the reason our battery was running down. I took out the fuse to it, so solve...

Thanks Roadhog...that is VERY helpful! I haven't done anything more with this yet as we were getting the blessings of our mechanic on the B. I will check into it this week.

Thanks Alaskan, it is a Fiamma, but I'm not sure which one yet. I did check out their website and saw replacement parts, so I just have to figure out what part(s) specifically it is that I need. I think it's really only a little plastic piece that broke, so it's just a matter of figuring out how thi...

Broken Awning Support

On a camping trip this weekend we set up our awning. I did notice that one of the supports wasn't hanging right and it was bending the metal strip (I'm sure this is making no sense so if I need to explain better, please let me know). When we went to roll up the awning before hitting the road for hom...

A night in the Poconos

My husband and I took his mom and our dog for a night of camping in the Poconos. I love the B now more than ever! It performed perfectly, and we had a great night's sleep in the bunk. The dog got the couch bed (mother-in-law was in brother-in-law's trailer). I made a complete dinner using the oven t...

More on tables - storage

My husband and I have a 1996 B190. We haven't figured out a good place to store our table when traveling. We have been keeping it on the overhead bunk, but after going over some really bumpy roads, it starts to slide forward and I'm afraid it's going to fall off. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello there, we are in Central Jersey, so not too far from you. Heading up to the Poconos this weekend for our first real camping trip in the Airstream. I can't wait to utilize the van the way it's meant to be used! Sitting under the awning, drinking our beverage of choice, campfire not too far away...

This is really good information, thanks Alaskan and Skater. We read on other forums that when on the road, 12V is best for the refrigerator. But thanks to this forum we see that it's not the only way. We will use the propane, as that seemed the most efficient to start with. This is all a learning ex...

I did see that page but didn't know what to make of it. I'm guessing that what we have is not a deep cycle battery. Do you have a recommendation on which one to use as the house battery?

One other thought. We did stop at a rest area and had lunch. Total stop time was probably about 30 minutes. If the refrigerator was on 12V, would it have drained the battery that quickly?

Thanks Skater. Once the battery was charged again, the monitor did show it as "charging" while the engine was running, so I'm not sure what's going on. Will definitely keep an eye on it.
