I have a 12v florescent over the sink - it is nice. Do not know if it was an add on or not. Will have to ask the PO.

I'm going to think about the master switch. Since all lights are on one circuit you could simply switch the hot side at the fuse box.

Excellent idea on the drawer... I will study that one too. Those latches are not cheap. I have seen them anywhere from 14 -21 $$$. The magnetic catches seem to work OK.

Like I said, I think the plug can be installed by sliding the univolt out - think I would probably add a breaker when I did it.

All is well...

For now. Got the generator fixed and back in. It took a new carburetor, fuel filter, gaskets, plug and several dinero.

Started right up and runs fine. I can't emphasize enough that these little things need attention. Scheduled oil changes, regular runs with a load and watching that oil level!

Switching to 12 volts...

It would be nice to have a switch to turn on inside lights (like the existing one to turn on the outside light) located on the end of the cabinet inside the door. Has anyone added such? Maybe one of those closet lights mounted there that you tap to turn on would be enough to get you in when it's dar...

Additional Outlets - wiring under sink...

OK, poking around looking for places to tie in additional places to plug things in... I found that there is around 4 feet of extra wire stuffed into the wall under and behind the sink. It leads to the plug that is at the door. This would be a great spot to mount an outside plug and looks like that m...

Thanks again...

Good location as far as taking advantage of the breaker box. A couple more questions for you. Did you take the couch out to take the pics? If so, yours sure must be easier than mine! I think I could remove the Univolt and have enough access for the install. Could not tell for sure, but assume this n...

Thanks...

I assume they came right off the breaker box on that side? Where was the wire routed to get to the outlet and where was the outlet mounted?

It's the routing without "seeing" the wires and a "finished" look that I am going for...

Additional Outlets?

Removing Generator

Alaskan has some very good tips and pictures on removing the Onan 2800 in the thread: Onan Microlite Fuel Pump..... He posts as follows: "Removing the generator involves disconnecting the exhaust pipe and dropping it down to start with, next you'll find that your generator has a couple bolts ho...

Carpet is out...

The carpet is out now in my '95. Some things to watch. - Make sure you remove all screws holding cabinets down. Some may not be obvious or hidden under crud. - Use the sharpest tool you can find to cut the carpet. I went through 15+ blades in my multi-blade knife. That old carpet is tough. - If you ...

Congrats...

Just got a 95 w/135,000 mi. Working through the "issues". Spent a ton this week on tires, shocks brakes, etc. Upholstery is good since PO had recently replaced all and added new curtains. Tearing out the carpet from driving area back. Hope that gets rid of the combination doggy/mouse smell...

Something else to consider

While trying to start the generator today I noticed something. The AC breaker on it is 25 amp. It may be that is the reason for the switch. When you are hooked to shore power the 30 amp breaker could handle both the air and the micro wave, but when the genset is powering things, it is limited to 25 ...

Carpet helps...

Skater, Got mine filled up for the first time today. One of the things the PO told me was to pull out the scrap of carpet he kept (like your floor mats) for the guy to kneel down on to fill the tank... barely enough clearance for the nozzle to fit. I can see where it could be more of a problem down ...

Yes...

I have bolted and caulked a piece of flat 1/4" aluminum about 18" long to the door and will mount back to that. Hopefully, that will hold it another 130,000 miles. I will post pictures when completed.

Quarter Tank!

That's a good thing... not only to keep you from running out of gas, but that's where my gauge is sitting right now and the generator will not start. As soon as I can bring other projects to the point where I can go out and get tires, I can fill up and hopefully it will then start!
