Re: restoring luster to fiberglass top

I think you'll be pleased with the result. I've tried everything on the market to get a uniform smooth finish, from Color Back to Mop and Glo and nothing I've tried is as easy as this. It should last with the wax. Smooth as a baby's butt. At least it's protected and looks good. As a side benefit, th...

restoring luster to fiberglass top

For a simple way to restore the color and luster of your oxidized fiberglass top, try this..... Wipe petroleum jelly on the surface using the scrubby side if a household sponge. You will see the oxidation (white) disappear as you sponge on the jelly. Rub off and buff the excess with a towel. You wil...

Re: Poli Glow (Poli Ox) Fiberglass Reconditioning

I was looking at various ways to restore the color and wax the top. I've tried some labor intensive products but it's a tough job. I was researching boat maintenance and several folks swore by petroleum jelly. I tried it on my badly oxidized top. Use a sponge, the scrubby side. Rub the jelly in to t...

Re: Fan belt slipping when cold

Thanks everyone. The smaller belt was slightly loose. The one w/o the tensioner. I tightened it at the alternater which is mounted by two bolts, a 1/2 and a 9/16 th.. a crowbar is necessary to adjust the alternator housing while tightening the bolts. That fixed the problem. The belts both were in go...

Re: Fan belt slipping when cold

Yes, I have the 460. I'll check the tensioner. The water trick is impossible as I can't get to the engine fast enough. The squeal goes away within about 5 to 10 seconds after starting. Just enough to wake other campers in the morning.

Fan belt slipping when cold

The fan belt slips and squeals when first starting a cold engine. I checked the belt..no cracks or abnormal wear. As soon as I put it in gear, the belt is ok. Thought the belt was self adjusting. Am I wrong? Fixes?

Re: Abs light

I've had the same proboem for 13 years. Way back when, a mechanic told me to ignore it because it would be too expensive to fix the problem. Told me the ABS system would work regardless. I've put about 70k on the camper since then with no problems and several panic stops over the years. I baby the b...

Re: Water Heater Door Replacement

Found a good, inexpensive spray paint match for our campers. If your paint code is YN, Dupli-color makes the paint in an 8oz spray can. The Dupli-color # is BFM0236 Silver Charcoal Metalic. (1Q, 14, D1,9Z, YN ) The can says it's a Ford color. I bought it off the shelf at Autozone for $8 and change. ...

Re: Water Heater Door Replacement

I ordered a replacement aluminum door but it came in as gloss white. Trying to match the paint for a 94 model. Does anyone know the correct paint code?.....or where i can get a color match? The color code on the door for exterior color is very confusing. There is a group of letters and numbers that ...

Re: My Table Solution

I cut a thin piece of indoor finish plywood to the dimensions of the stovetop for added counter space. Rounded the outside edge. Stained and finished it the color of the cabinets and coated it with several layers of polyurethane. When I cook I just lift it up against the back of the stove and use a ...
