Thanks - I remembered seeing in the old messages someone else had a similar problem, but I couldn't remember where it was (and haven't had the time to search).

You're right about the price of a new one - which is actually a bit of a relief, because hopefully that means parts aren't that expensive.

Knoebels campground - Elysburg, PA

Knoebels is an amusement park in central Pennsylvania. It's quite unlike most amusement parks - it's free parking, free admission; pay as you go on the rides (though they do offer hand stamps if you're going to ride a lot). They have a campground there that's kind of minimalist: --The sites are sma...

Awning trouble...

Well, I did something incredibly stupid. I left the awning out yesterday ... it rained, heavily. Crunch. The one arm of the awning is basically destroyed. I'll get some pictures later but it's pretty amazing - the aluminum is just sort of ripped open. Also there's a tear in the canvas of the awning....

The only problem with that is that if the cell were ever damaged you wouldn't be able to remove it for repair/replacement.

I haven't done it, but every solar panel I've seen (not many, mind you) is mounted on brackets, above the roofline an inch or two. If you carefully seal around the holes you won't have any problems with leakage. I really don't see any other way to do it - you could try double sided tape or something...

Deep cycle battery info

The dimensions of my battery, here for reference in case you want to replace yours and buy it online or something. 11" long (though I think it can be a tad longer than that - the tray is a bit longer) 7" wide 8.5" high This appears to be a Group 24 battery. Other relevant battery info...

 I saw some packaged salmon last night in the grocery store and thought of your recipe, then I thought of Alaskan's picture. I didn't buy any. :)

No, the water heater bypass is used to let you fill the system with antifreeze (drinkable variety, of course) without filling the water heater.

Good writeup. Did you put a water heater bypass on it for winterizing? Also...heat with the engine's coolant? Aye carumba, that seems fraught with dangers. Let's see...running 40+ feet of coolant hose from the engine to the water heater...wow. Plus it'll cool off a good bit, I'd think, by the time i...

Now a question for Alaskan. The generator is installed for my rig but the problem now is connection of the gas line. It appears that the gas tank sending units do not have a separate connection for the gas line from the generator. Any suggestions on connecting the gas line from the generator? I'm n...

From my Chilton's manual... First, make sure you have the gauge type - apparently there is also a type that is just for the idiot light, and they are not interchangeable. From what I understand based on the text and graphic in the manual, the oil pressure sender is located at the back of the engine,...
