Sidewall finish above sink
On my "94 there was vinyl paper on the sidewall above the sink that had buckled over time. I replaced it with a thin sheet of aluminum flashing 14" wide available at Lowe's. I cut the piece to 25" and after removing the caulk, and dropping the light (two screws), slipped the flashing ...

Just got through refinishing cabinets in my '94. Took off the doors and lightly sanded everything with 220 grit until smooth. Didn't have to do a heavy sanding but just knocked down the ridges where the grain was lifted. Lightly used Minwax maple (best match) stain rubbed on, and waited 24 hrs. Fini...

Recently came back from a 3K mile trip where I was spooked more than a few times by extreme body roll during quick stops and uneven pavement. With 100K on camper, I realized the shocks needed replacement. (Installed Monroe gas-magnun's from NAPA) and also upgraded to Hellwig, front and rear aftermar...

Window insect screens
Does anyone know where I can locate a supplier for insect screens to fit the side and rear windows? I expect that they would consist of a screened unit that attaches to the window frame with the capped nuts in place around the windows.

Synthetic oil
Does anyone know if its a good idea to switch to symthetic motor oil? Do I use a different viscosity in synthetic oil than regular oil? (currently using regular 10W-30) How long can I go between oil changes with Synthetic? I am considering switching due to hot summer driving where synthetic is toute...

I think I found the problem...Searching E40D transmission sites on the WEB, I found a fellow with the same problem. It turns out to be a faulty Manual Lever Position Sensor. This part is located on the drivers side of the tranny case and the shift linkage is attached to it along with an electrical c...

Hadn't thought about the overdrive. Took it to the only tranny guy in town...don't think he wanted to mess with it. Told me he took it for a test drive and couldn't duplicate the problem but said something about a speed sensor in the transmission...He didn't seem all that concerned but like I said, ...

Drivetrain/Transmission
On the last several trips, while in "drive" the transmission slips out of gear and the engine revs. As soon as I let off on the gas the transmission smoothly re-engages. This happens at highway speeds and is very intermittent. The last 500 mile trip, it happened 4 times. The level and colo...

Front spare tire carrier
You can mount the cargo/bike carrier on the rear using the current receiver hitch. You can buy an extension for your hitch so that the spare has clearance and remains in place. I do this with my current bike rack that uses the receiver.

Corps of Engineers campgrounds in the southeast are worth going out of your way for. They are always clean, modern and scenic and usually off the beaten track, as well as being cheaper than most state parks. If you have a Golden age or Golden Access pass (over 65 or disabled) the price is half the g...

I was glad you had Bill Jenkins as a contact and passed to info on to us. He did right by me and I'm finally up and running. Until I found this site, I was at a loss as to how to find one of these rare breeds. However un-orthodox the the purchase was to me, (passing credit card info over the phone a...
