Re: Generator Removal for 1998 B-190

Continued... There is supposed to be a gasket between the intake fan and the metal sheet but the gasket is completely gone. I noticed some of the foam that was used on the generator is deteriorating so the foam gasket was probably sucked through the intake fan at some point. Without the gasket, hot ...

Re: Generator Removal for 1998 B-190

Finally got the drain pipe off after a couple of hours. It was really hard to work blindly and in such a small space. The other thing was the pipe was in 3 parts so you had to remove them in order or the pipe won't come out because the barb part would hit the support on the side. Something else that...

Generator Removal for 1998 B-190

Hey guys, I want to document the removal process a little and also maybe get some tips. This is currently a work in progress. Removal Process: 1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the house battery. 2. Loosen the 2 nuts on the u-bolt connecting the exhaust pipe to the muffler. No need to take the ...

Re: Scroll To View Photos

You’ll have to resize your image before posting. 565E1AFD-071C-4474-B1BE-D7A871552847.jpeg Im sure Skater can help to suggest exact sizes. Skater, what is the maximum size for the pictures? I personally think the pictures are too small, most forums I go to display pictures bigger so you can actuall...

Skater,

Is it possible to show the entire photo instead of it being cut off and you have to scroll to see the entire picture? Thanks.

Re: 1998 Airstream B190

Finally found an adapter for the manometer hose. Couldn't find one locally so I ordered one from Amazon. One tip with the DIY manometer, add enough water so that the water does not pass the halfway point on the bottom of the loop or you'll get a fountain of water plus escaping gas. The Dometic 2301 ...

Re: Solar Geeks Needed

If you really want to keep it I would use a switch like Skater mentioned but I would not mix the batteries and charge them at the same time unless I carefully monitored them for a couple of charging cycles. It sounds like you only need the AGMs to power the inverter and the MPPT is only hooked up to...

Re: 1998 Airstream B190

I finally built up the manometer and it looks like my pressure regulator is bad, only 9 in, should be 11 in. Another problem I found is that if I leave the gas stove on and connected to the manometer and turn off the shutoff valve at the tank and release some pressure with another stove burner to sa...

Re: 1998 Airstream B190

I think I'm just going to run the fridge off an inverter while I'm driving instead of buying a new heating element. Installed a new converter yesterday, should have time to check the gas pressure today.

Completed the gravel parking spot today also.

Re: Rallies and Other Events?

Remember the funds collected by WBCCI for this rally are used for two weeks (add in workers week) of building rentals, electric, water, golf cart rentals, entertainer fees, rally gifts, rally ribbons, a couple meals for workers and attendees, printing costs, table and chair rentals, caterers, food,...

Re: 1998 Airstream B190

I haven't compared the temp difference between 120V and propane but yesterday I checked again and it was 28F in the freezer and 38F in the area below. Do these number look right? I didn't have time to build the manometer yesterday. I'm trying to make a pad for the van, hopefully I'll be done in a f...

Re: Rallies and Other Events?

Never been to one of these. Seems kind of expensive, what am I getting for $110? Don't forget the site fee, too. We were wondering the same thing. There's entertainment (both amateur and professional), workshops, presentations by vendors, giveaways, etc., but I'm not sure we'll use $110/each worth ...
