Sparky, thanks for chiming in. Your story bolsters my confidence. Glad to hear your van is working well with a new pump.

The 94 460 Fuel Pump Problem

My low-miles B-van is showing symptoms of "vapor lock", after driving in the heat on highways for a couple hours and then slowing down on back roads. It stutters, loses power, and finally stalls, refusing to run until it cools off, usually about an hour or so. Then it runs fine. This topic...

Saw my first Airstream Avenue

Someone in Boulder already has the new Airstream Avenue, and I saw it driving around town this afternoon. Have to say, it looks kinda sleek. Will this site's members start jumping ship?

No danger for me any time soon--they're $100K each. Ouch!

Here's a 1998 in South Carolina. No connection, etc.
Shows a bit of that shower we've been talking about in the pics:

I haven't had much luck posting URLs. If the b-van doesn't appear at this link, go to RVT.com and search on "1998 Airstream 190"

Here's another vote for running a long shower hose out the back door from this camp(er), to rinse off humans, pets, bikes, etc. Why? Because our shower is always full of our toys! It holds (not all at once): four pairs of skis bungee-d onto the towel rack; 2 sets of golf clubs; fishing gear and wet ...

I had the same problem with my seats, and part of my research uncovered this Web site, http://www.carcoverusa.com/RV-Seat-Glove.html. They look like they would fit, but I thought they were too expensive. I decided not to buy them, so I cannot give you a personal report on them. I ended up doing a po...

Thanks to Tony and the fine folks at Fiamma, we've managed to replace the broken part in our awning and it's now mostly working again. We learned from Fiamma that it is possible to replace the stop device without removing the awning from the van, but it's an awkward, 2+ person job. We actually had t...

Wow, looks shiny and new! Looks like your shop did a nice job. Glad you're all recovered from your accident and back in the B190 business.

Tony, your message from Sept. 09 about your awning could have been written by me today. I have a handful of broken black plastic parts and the awing will not roll up. I'm happy to hear that you were able to fix yours. I looked at the Fiamma web site and it looks like I also need the right stop devic...

Thanks, Howard!! That sounds like exactly what I need for the monitor panel. I'll order one. I think the size is called mini-rocker, but I'll measure carefully to be sure. Update on the power locks: I found a junkyard driver's side power lock switch from a 1994 Ford Explorer (I have a 94 BVan), popp...

I love this site! Skater: I had no idea that the HVAC depends on vacuum, but now that I've learned that, I've got a discussion point with the couple of mechanics that might be able to chase down the leak and fix it. Thanks for the tip! Progress to date on the switch thing: Turns out the window switc...

ATF spew, and what to do?

After some rough driving in our van on a recent 104-deg day, miles from civilization, we arrived at the top of a steep hill to an odd smell and a trail of something behind us. Uh oh. The automatic transmission fluid was leaking out, and things looked pretty grim... However, on the advice of a kindly...

Small Switches--sources sought

We're starting to see some intermittent failures on switches, both automotive and coach, so if someone has solved or replaced these, please let me know: Coach Monitor Panel: our monitor panel does not always come on with the toggle switch. Pump on the same panel is very reliable; it's just the monit...

Update: we're good to go with fresh water in the tank and pressure holding. I guess it was a rough winter! There was more than one leak; the most serious one was the cap to the filter. It's now super-glued and gorilla-taped, but I need to find a replacement part. The sink faucet leaked (now fixed), ...
