Re: Adding a generator

IMO....packing around a separate gen like that Honda mentioned is a pain in the butt and I wouldn't consider storing in the shower stall, who the heck wants to drag that in & out....to each his own, just saying I think it matters how often you need one. I hardly ever use mine in the 8-9 trips I...

Re: Adding a generator

All campers are "generator ready" and shouldn't need to be cut. They all have the compartment for a Onan 2.8. Problem is that the generator costs a lot. So I just got a Honda 2000 and keep it in the tub when I'm not using it. Be sure to buy a chain if you go this route as I've heard numero...

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?

Being that the plug is only 8 bucks at Camping World and looks the same as the one on there, I'll give that a shot first. Thanks for the tips!

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?

I replaced the plug on mine a few weeks ago. My dissatisfaction with the part led to my converting to an updated receptacle you mentioned in Alaskan and my posts. You are pretty much doing the same work to replace the entire cord if you go that route. You can get replacement plugs. I would look at ...

Re: 30 Amp plug replacement?

The cord is wired to an electrical box on the underside of the tub. This area is accessed from the left back door, and an access hole that leads to the underside of the tub. Unfortunately, the 90' has it under the couch. I think they started putting it under the tub around 92'. The converter box is...

30 Amp plug replacement?

Hi there, The 30 amp plug that we use for shore power has been falling apart since I bought my 90-91' B190. Finally, I tried to plug it into my Honda 2000 genny and it did not work anymore. Has anyone replaced the plug or entire cord? Do you have to hard wire it into the converter under the couch or...

Any chance you still have two of these lying around? I'm in for a couple!

Re: Need Ideas for a 10 Day Road Trip

I'd say north too. I used to live in North NJ too and enjoyed New England trips much more (heat wise and mtn wise). I'd say do a big loop, go up to Catskills and Adirondacks in NY. Go across VT and hike/camp around Stowe (Sound of Music). Go on the Kangamangos Hwy in NH (west to east) while doing a ...

Welcome to the site! I've already found this site to be invaluable in fixing a few problems and working on a few preventative measures as well. If there's something that has gone wrong, there's probably suggestions here to help!

Re: Snow and Ice questions

Thanks for the great tips, I'll be doing a bunch of these! The "clean waste" idea is interesting, I ordered their trial pack to give it a whirl. I already have an electric cube heater for when I have shore power, two 0deg bags for winter, and will be getting window covers for insulating so...

Re: Anyone replace your standard lighting with LEDs?

I replaced the Double Pancake overhead light in the coach this weekend. Looks so much better, uses 85% less energy and doesn't burn a hole in the plastic covers like the old one does. That sucker was hot!. Costs about 40 bucks at Camper World and it took me about 10 minutes to swap it out, very easy...

Re: Leak in the bunk...

I had the same problem, leaking into the top bunk. I applied sealer to the front window and tried to repair the side window gaskets myself, but found more leaking. I took it to the shop, they had to pull the windows as they were fairly separated from the frame. They cleaned the gunk out of the chann...

Re: Steering stabilizers....

Just got the Safe-T-Stabilizer and bracket installed. Parts were about 570 total and labor was about 170. I drove about 5 hours this weekend.

In my mind, totally worth it. If not for piece of mind if you get a blow out. It also helps with crosswinds and big pot holes.

Re: Snow and Ice questions

Thanks for the great tips! I've gotta ask though, what are "clean waste bags" and how do they work? Is that like blue bags when climbing a volcano around here? Most resorts here in WA allow you to camp in the RV lots. Some have hookups, some don't. I've already done it twice this spring at...
