Re: 1999 b190 AIRSTREAM VAN 85,000MI $10,000.00

Hi Blair, Sorry for the delay... I believe it is in a suburb of Jacksonville, Fl just south of the city. I replied to their email with a couple of question but, have not heard back. They are in the process of relocating and probably have a lot on their plate. I hope to hear from them later this week...

Good point on the overall height. I suspect it may be difficult to find a shop, other than an RV or truck shop, that can accommodate it.
As such, $12k may be the price you have to pay!

$12K is probably what it takes today to paint something this large. However, I would give some thought to having it done by someone like Maaco. If it doesn't need significant body work, companies like this seem to be able to put a decent paint job out for very reasonable costs. And, if you're handy ...

Howard, It is my understanding that sway bars should have no tension or preload on them with the van at "rest". Also, I believe you want to adjust the end links so that the bar remains parallel to the ground. If adjusted this way and handling remains unacceptable, there may be other variab...

Denco, If this happens with the wheels slightly turned right or left, it may be a simple camber issue. I would check the alignment before considering raising the suspension since this also raises the center of gravity. Adding as much camber as possible may pull the leading edge of the tires back jus...

If all the front end components are in good shape, I have had positive response from dialing in a little more positive caster to address the straight line stability of our past vans. From what I understand, the caster tends to make front wheels want to stay centered or pointed straight ahead... As a...

Keep us updated on your progress. I am currently doing a project for a company that was involved in propane conversions back during the carberated engine days some thirty years ago. That business has long sinced died although there seems to be some interest in it again as a result of the recent &quo...
