Re: DC problems

Skater solved the problem by noting that because his replacement board in the original string did not require the blue wire from the original converter to be attached, my old board required that the positive terminal be attached to the grommit where the blue wire was originally attached and that sol...

Re: Replacing the converter

Skater: Many Thanks. I had determined that there was 13.1v potential between the grommit on the board where the blue wire was attached and the positive on the board from the battery and the converter. I was debating whether to jump between the positive terminal and that grommet to see what woild hap...

DC problems

I recently replaced my converter with the PD 9260c and it seems to be working. However the DC power to the house is not working. AC working well and DC at the board terminals is 12.58 v as is the battery when the converter is off and 13.6 at both locations when the converter is on. I get no lights, ...

Re: Replacing the converter

Well, it is morning and I have made a few voltmeter checks. Without the AC connected to the inverter, the terminals read 12.58, the same as the house battery under the hood. With the converter is on, it read 13.65, similar to the reading at the house battery under the hood with the AC on to the conv...

Re: Replacing the converter

Skater: It takes me some time between thinking about something and actually doing it. After reading your account I purchased the PD 9206c because our old converter was making noises and may have been the cause of a dead house battery. After more than a year, I finally got around to installing it tod...

Re: Hello all!

Welcome to the B190. Our 89 Airstream seems to be more in a transitional phase, built by Okanagan but not with an official Airstream id number. We may have more in common than some of the newer models.

Re: VIN Decoder

The VIN decoder worked fine for the vehicle - 1FDHS34G5KHA85388. Returned the correct information. I had difficulty identifying what would be the Airstream Number but found a difficult to decipher model number on a foil label on the post of the drivers door. It read VC2RT-111, and it returned 1969-1...

Re: Order to install panels in bunk area

Since you have pulled out the interior in the bunk area, would it be possible to describe to me the path of the electrical wiring powering the two reading lamps forward in the bunk area? Mine are not working in my 89 B190 and I would like to know the path of the electricity back to a key switch area...

Re: Leak testing windows

It was not a true 190, it was a newer version under Okanagan. My picture was too large so I got this from a resale site. I have seen a model as new as 2008, but can find no information easily on whether they are still being produced. Prices noted were $30,000+ Canadian.

Re: Leak testing windows

I will be interested in how the windows are attached. On a recent trip from the West Coast to Yellowstone to Jasper and back, ran into some heavy rain that seemed to enter below the front window on the bunk up along the glass and then into the bunk area. Not a drenching, but a worry. I noted that th...

Re: DC issues

You can disregard most of this post. The problem was with the operator and not the equipment, except the converter which I will replace. I was so sure that the battery was hooked up. Most of the vehicles I work with have black ground cables. I should have tripped to the three positive cable comments...

Re: Fuel Selector Switch....

I have been dealing with this problem for a while. When the engine load was heavy going up hill and in hot weather or both, the engine acted like it was not getting gas. It recovered when allow to set for a half hour or so, and would run well if the switch selected the rear tank rather than the fron...

DC issues

I have gone through all of the topics in the electrical forum and have ordered a new convertor after it fried my house battery. I previously had not been able to detect the charger keeping the battery up charged and thought there might be a fuse in the circuit. I never found one. I bought a new deep...

Re: New B190 owner here

I notice that you have stripped the bunk area down to the shell. I was wondering whether you could trace the wires connecting to the reading lights at the front of the area to where they connect to the power supply and let me know. I have an 89 with an extra reading light in the edge of the storage ...

Cutain Hanging Devices

We have a 1989 B190 and are in the process of replacing what appears to be the original curtains. The problem is that the curtain hanging devices have deteriorated. The rail is plastic with a slot for the sliders (nylon or plastic in a I-beam form, visualize a 1/2" by 1/4" block with a und...
