Skater, thanks for the reply. I see the pin you spoke about and it looks in tact. I think the issue for me is actually pushing it up, finding then hole it goes into and then actually being able to push it on. Maybe a car jack to push it up and a rubber mallet to persuade it are the ticket.

I can't speak for all years but my 93 had a 6ga wire connecting the positive terminals together. This was the way they were delivered from the factory. I have removed this to prevent draining the starter battery while using the house lights, water pump, heater, etc.
