Re: Onan generator survey
Thanks everyone for the posts. Good info here. It looks like the genset is a little bit frustrating for some and yet others have had a relatively good experience. I fall into that first frustration category and wonder about the wisdom of spending more on an aging piece of equipment. I hope more peop...

Onan generator survey
So my generator is not operational and I'm trying to determine what the best course of action is. I would not use the generator to run the a/c I would only use it to charge the batteries and occasionally run the microwave. My current project is essentially to upgrade the converter and add two 100 am...

Re: Converter Upgrad: Progressive Dynamics PD4655 kit or PD9
Keystone thanks for the reply. I appreciate the info. After all the good feedback here I continued my research and exchanged a couple of emails with Progresseive Dynamics and I think I have the definitive answer. Both the pd9260 and the pd4655 use the same charging technology. Once I confirmed that ...

Re: Converter Upgrad: Progressive Dynamics PD4655 kit or PD9
Skater, thanks for the reply. Every post I've seen in this forum and others point to the quality of BestConverters.com and Randy in particular. I tend to get a little sideways when the only answer I get back is go with the PD4655 and my questions regarding the PD9260 are essentially ignored. I'm sur...

Converter Upgrad: Progressive Dynamics PD4655 kit or PD9260?
Has anyone actually installed a PD4655 converter upgrade kit in the B190? Everywhere I look I see numerous posts about upgrading to the PD9260 and very few about using the PD4655 conversion kit. I exchanged a couple of emails with Randy at BestConverter.com about installing the PD9260 and each time ...

Re: Upgrade converter, add bat. bank & trimetric monitor
Phil, I have seen this post before it had great information especially the slide piece. I saw the vent hose and thought ALL batteries needed to be sealed and vented to the outside if placed in an interior living space. With help from Ericz and some research i realized that this is not the case at le...

Re: Upgrade converter, add bat. bank & trimetric monitor
Eric, Again thanks so much for the info. Looking forward to where you mounted the trimetric and how you routed the cable. I've been noodling on this for awhile and the only relatively simple solution looks to be mounting it next to the bunk light switch and fantastic fan thermostat located straight ...

Re: Upgrade converter, add bat. bank & trimetric monitor
Skater and Eric thanks! I greatly appreciate your thoughts and feedback. All things to consider. I'll definitely look at the different batteries you mentioned. I like the idea of using the seatbelt holes as tie downs. They were coming out anyway and this is a good use for them. The batteries certain...

Upgrade converter, add bat. bank & trimetric monitor
Background: The 93 MH is equipped with an Onan Microlite 2.8kw generator, Magnetek 6332 converter and a group 50 house battery as was delivered by Airstream in 93. The cable connecting the starting battery and the house battery has been removed. There are many issues with this design which includes ...

Re: Attach Leather accent cover below galley cabinets
Skater, thanks for the reply. I see the pin you spoke about and it looks in tact. I think the issue for me is actually pushing it up, finding then hole it goes into and then actually being able to push it on. Maybe a car jack to push it up and a rubber mallet to persuade it are the ticket.

Attach Leather accent cover below galley cabinets
When I acquired my 93 B190 the leather accent that sits below the kitchen cabinets and covers the frame rail and wire run had fallen down on the side next to the refrigerator and above the status monitor. Does anyone know how to reattach this? Is there a special tool or procedure for doing this? ima...

Re: Batteries linked?
I can't speak for all years but my 93 had a 6ga wire connecting the positive terminals together. This was the way they were delivered from the factory. I have removed this to prevent draining the starter battery while using the house lights, water pump, heater, etc.
