I moved your message into a new thread for clarity. :)

I don't think there is a way to adjust them.

Okay. I used to think that was the dual-battery isolator. However, I just looked at mine, and I don't think that's actually what it is. I'm not sure what that is. In mine, I can follow the positive coach battery cable to a unit that's in front of the battery (you have to lean over to see it), which ...

On my rig the coach battery must be charged in order to start the generator. Also the generator will not run for long periods of time if the house battery is weak. My generator (Onan) does not charge the house battery. That's really weird. It should. The 120 volt power (regardless of source) should...

Update on this: I still haven't gotten it working, and I'm still having the same problem - that is, as soon as I plug in the cord, it trips the GFCI breaker even if none of the house switches are set to the generator position. Here's what I've checked: 1. The transfer switch is wired correctly. That...

Something new I just learned...

I just learned this about the generator, by accident: it requires 12 volts DC to run, in addition to the 12 volts DC it needs to start. Here's how I discovered this: I disconnected the coach battery, because I wanted to test the converter without the bad battery installed. Then I started the generat...

Old thread, I know, but I just came across this dual battery switch that resembles the one I have. This is what is installed in mine that lets the alternator charge the coach battery.

I used a 1 1/2" holesaw to create new corners then connected between them to make this opening larger to be able to actually work in there.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v300/alaskan/Airstream%20Vans/DSCN8385.jpg What are the two lines on the right side there? http://img.photobucket.com/a...

Do either of the two brands have anything special that make them unique? Just want to make sure I get the biggest bang for the tight buck!!! No, although if you really want to be careful you might mosey down to your local RV place and see which they carry more parts for. One thing - you want a 6 ga...

Usually the only time you pull a water heater out completely is when you're replacing it. You should be able to do everything else from the exterior panel. Take a look in the gallery, in my pictures. There are pictures I took of the back of the water heater. If you have that same pipe (gray plastic)...

Off-topic, but Alaskan: Good idea with the hose-barb connection there. The last few times I've drained my water heater, the electronics got wet and the thing didn't want to start. I had to start it manually - which is a TRICK to do alone...

OK, this was a simple one. I took the battery to a local shop and had ut tested: no good. So, I will invest in new deep cycle battery. Any suggestions? I have to remember KISS!! If you install a battery disconnect (they aren't expensive) and remember to do it, and watch the fluid levels, any deep c...
