Re: Newbie and Generator starting
I thought I posted a comment last night but I don't see it here so I'll try again. The short story is the generator started and we were able to operate the microwave then switch over to AC. Yippee! I was prepared to purchase several parts including a new fuel pump and carburetor if needed. Fortunate...

Re: Stabilizer Bars
I'm going to look under the 1998 B190 this week and see what kind of clearance is there for the Hellwig 7183. If everything looks good I'll order the kit and install it this week. I noticed Summit Racing has the kit in stock and their price seems okay at $231.99. I'll check some other sites to see i...

Re:
...In the 97 and later rigs there is a storage bay below the gen compartment so Airstream install a fitting and a hose that exits the gen compartment and bolts to the frame of the Ford chassis with a drain valve on the end.... I wonder how many 1997 thru 2000 owners know that... Thanks for the tip....

Re: Newbie and Generator starting
I realize this is an old thread but it's pertinent to my situation as I'll be trying to start a B190 generator after several years of non-use. The oil has been changed, and the generator turns over (starter works) but it does not start. I'll be checking it this week and will report back. I'm guessin...

Re: Stabilizer Bars
I'll be sure to check out Addco too. I'll be working on the B190 in about a week so I'll check clearances, etc. before I order a sway bar On a related note, and I don't mean to hijack the thread, has anyone ever considered Roadmaster Active Suspension? The web site is: http://www.activesuspension.co...

Re: Gasoline Fumes When Refueling?
Lots of good information - thanks for the replies. I'll certainly check for cracks in hoses and see if I can replace them without dropping the tank. We recently purchased the B190 and I'm still learning. It certainly makes sense that it could be the vent hose or even the fill hose. I didn't see any ...

Re: What material is shower surround? Anyone painted it?
If you determine it's plastic then Krylon Fusion paint will likely work. I recently saw an entire shower (in an Airstream) that was painted with Krylon Fusion and it looked great! The owner had done the same thing to their previous Airstream and they were very happy with the results. By the way... t...

Re: Stabilizer Bars
Looking at the Hellwig web site it looks like their part number 7183 is intended for a 1998 E350. I've seen that part number elsewhere in this thread. Does anyone know if the 7183 does indeed fit a 1998 B190? Looking under the vehicle I see the a large tank (black and/or gray) near the differential....

Re: Gasoline Fumes When Refueling?
Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I tend to manually top off the tank because several of my vehicles seem to stop pumping prematurely.

Gasoline Fumes When Refueling?
Is it common to experience a significant smell of gasoline when refueling a B190? Specifically, I refueled a 1998 B190 that I was recently test driving. When I hopped back into the vehicle there was an obvious smell of gasoline. The person who was riding with me has owned three B190's - 1993, 1995 a...

skater,
Thanks for helping me out on my recent registration problem. All is good now and I'm scouring the forum so I can learn about B190's.

Re: Newbies: Please read
We bought the van. It's in reasonably good condition but needs a few tweaks before it's fully ready to hit the road. I'll be scouring the threads here to learn more about the B190 and find good sources for parts and upgrades.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Stabilizer Bars
This is an interesting thread. The bolt-on aspect of the rear stabilizer sounds like a relatively easy project for a do-it-yourselfer. I noticed several comments indicating this makes a big difference in handling. If there were just three things you could do to improve the ride/drive of your B190 wh...

Re: Newbies: Please read
Hello Everyone, My wife and I are looking at a 1998 B190 tomorrow. We're focusing on the later years based on a recommendation from a friend. He's owned early models as well as late models and preferred the later years. I'm sure they're all good but for now we're considering '97, '98 and '99. We're ...
