Re: Water pump just runs and runs....

The most likely explanation is air in the lines - the pump won't build sufficient pressure with air in the lines. The other things lido14co mentioned are also possibilities. Another possible explanation is that for some reason the pump isn't picking up water from the tank. Is the metal screen filte...

Re: Premium fuel

I've not tried premium as it hasn't seemed necessary. Next time we take a trip I'll run a few tanks of premium to see if I think there's a difference. Our 1998 van has the V-10 engine with fuel injection.

Re: Help!! Turn signals and O/D button quit working

Glad it's working again. I guess I'll have to start checking fuses with a meter to ensure I don't overlook anything.

Re: Replacing the carpet

We use a runner and some area mats in our van (even with the carpet) and it makes for relatively easy cleaning. If we were to take out the carpet we'd definitely replace it with laminate, cork or something similar and use a runner and area rugs. We put hardwood laminate in our trailer and use rugs -...

Great pictures! Looks like you're on the way to having solid van. Seems like these campers are always in need of some repair and you had more than your share. Good Luck!

skater, it's been a while since I registered so I don't remember the information I supplied in order to obtain an account. I presume it's a valid email so a token/id code can be sent or some sort of link to follow to complete the registration. Regardless, is it possible to add a text field requiring...

Re: Installing Solar Panels

Thanks for the detailed pictures and notes. That looks like it's going to be a very useful solar installation. In one of your pictures I see you have the old style, single-stage converter. For another $200 you could switch it out to the more modern multi-stage charging system. The multi-stage chargi...

That's a nice setup and a wonderful trip. There are some great parks down along the panhandle. Thanks for the pictures.

Re: Looking for B190 in the Northeast ;-)

Okay, I'll give the pricing some consideration. I know what we spent to purchase the van and I have a tally of the improvements we've made. We're still hoping my sister-in-law (wife's sister) will use the van periodically. Best case - she's buys it from us, second best - she uses it from time to tim...

Re: Looking for B190 in the Northeast ;-)

Hi SeaQuinn, I noticed your post a week or so ago but only today did it hit me that our B190 might find its way to the selling block. We love the van but it was originally purchased with my sister-in-law in mind and that looks less and less likely at this point. We weren't really looking to sell it ...

Re: 1990 b190 hour meter for generator?

FYI, our 1998 has an hour meter inside adjacent to the on/off switch. I don't recall the manual indicating the hour meter was an option but who knows - maybe it is an option - or was an option on earlier year models.

Re: Water Heater replacement

If your van is like ours the wood panels in closet are removed by simply removing several Phillips head screws. Our closet has several wood panels that need to be removed to access the water heater. Just take your time and remove the screws methodically, paying attention to the fact that you may hav...

Re: Water heater drainage hole leaking

Oh right - totally counter intuitive - so it closes when it comes out?! Where can I get a new on as mine looks rusted? Also is this where the element is?thanks It's a gas water heater, not electric (unless it's been modified with one of those electric elements like the Hott Rodd) - there is no elem...

Re: Water heater drainage hole leaking

See the pictures below for examples of a closed and open petcock. When the valve is closed notice the exposed threads on the stem between the body and the "handle." When the valve is open the handle is very close to the body and you don't see any of the threads on the stem.
