Re: Water heater drainage hole leaking

A rubber stopper is not used in this case. The petcock is the valve and turning it counterclockwise opens the valve and turning it clockwise closes the valve. Are you certain you turned it the correct direction? I may be able to post pictures later but right now I'm having a smartphone/computer malf...

Re: Water heater drainage hole leaking

You're right, that does look unusual. I don't see a hex shape or some sort of wrench area that would permit you to remove the entire valve body from the water heater tank. If I follow you correctly you're saying water is coming out of the petcock shown in the picture. It's possible the petcock is in...

Re: Speaking of tires....

Wow! That's quite a bulge. I've never seen anything like that. I know this thread is several months old but thought I'd add my recent experiences. I typically buy Michelin tires for my vehicles. The Michelin tread seems to last longer than other brands and I've come to believe the quality is better ...

Re: Spare Tire Jack

In our 1999 with the newer-style bathroom, the jack, jack handle and lug wrench are all with the spare tire accessible through the rear van doors (beneath the new-style bathroom vanity counter top). That location certainly makes sense. Unfortunately, other than the spare tire, there's no tire equip...

Re: Spare Tire Jack

I have the same question on the 1998 van. Looked around a little today and didn't find the jack or tire iron. If I find it I'll post here and let you know where it was hidden.

Re: Sofa fold down shelf/drink holder

Mine are still working and don't plan to get rid of them but thought I would offer a suggestion. Our van is a 1998 so I don't know if it similar to yours. On ours the metal looks like simple flat pieces that could be fashioned with a hacksaw and a drill from flat bar stock. I don't have detailed dim...

Your fixes/upgrades look great! That's one nice looking camper. I love the seating arrangement - it looks like those are twin beds.

Re: Smoothing sailing until San Francisco... Need advice!

Sounds like you found a good solution to your issue. Once you're in town it makes sense to drive around, ask questions and a solution presents itself. How did you handle your dog when you were away from the van? What do you mean by lots of rundown campers parked in the area - had other campers found...

Re: Anyone replaced window latches - upper front?

Hehr is still in business and was very helpful answering questions for me recently. They don't sell parts direct but ParKin is one of their major suppliers. The web sites are: http://hehrintl.com/index.htm http://www.parkin-acc.com/ I looked around on the ParKin web site and they have Hehr latches f...

Re: Smoothing sailing until San Francisco... Need advice!

Consider parking at an office complex or shopping center. Churches might be good place to park for a day at a time. Find a parking lot with afternoon shade and your dog will probably be okay - with the upper windows open and the Fantastic Vent on low speed.

Re: Engine problems....

I don't have a fix but it's a Ford truck and many Ford truck problems are discussed and resolved on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum. Not saying somebody here won't have good ideas but since it's a engine issue (possibly electrical/electronic)you may want to check the http://www.ford-trucks.com/ web...

Re: best way to get out of overhead bed

This really is a fun thread. All the images of us trying to sort out how to get in and out of bed has me laughing out loud, some sort of weird gymnastics we are all engaged in complete with knotted rope! Still thinking about that idea of a sliding bannister for the way down... Necessity certainly i...

Re: Window Mouldings

Not sure which windows you are referring to... but if your B190 is like our 1998 we have Hehr brand windows. Hehr makes windows for RVs and marine applications. The Hehr web site is http://hehrintl.com/ and the parts are sold retail through ParKin Accessories http://parkin-acc.com/ I contacted both ...

WOW! You've made excellent progress. The van is looking good and the digital camo idea is definitely cool! Keep us posted. If you have pictures of the decal removal and are willing to write a synopsis of how you approached the removal without damaging the paint that would be a great topic for anothe...

Re: Rallies and Other Events?

You could set up two rallies in the same timeframe - one for east of the big river and the other for west of the big river. We could Skype from both locations to "meet" the other rally attenders and have discussions of hot topics, share ideas, improvements, etc. Campgrounds or fairgrounds...
