Re: Hot water, Cold water

If you don't have the B on city water then I would have to think that the residual pressure and the added pressure of the water being hot is just pushing it out the cold side untill the system pressure is exhausted. The only check valve that I know of is the one in the pump to keep City water from f...

Re: Window glazing gasket

Our hehr windows use two different glazing beads. The one in the pic doesn't look like the right one for the fixed window. I use Interstate RV Metal http://interstatervmetalandsupply.com If you are doing all your windows you will need 21ft of 009-842 for the slider and 009-344 for the fixed window. ...

Re: Miles left until total failure of 4E0D?

You are not too far off the mark. A cylinder missfire can feel and is sometimes mistaken for converter shutter. The converter clutch was changed from 3/4 inch wide to 7/8 before the triton V10 replaced the 460. And all converters rebuilt after 95 had the new clutch. Unless you had a strange hydrolic...

Re: Can't find gas tank float for front has tank

I have come up with a Spectra Premium #SP2019H pump/hanger assembly. See if your mechanic used that #. It goes for about $100. Google the part # to find it.There is also one available at Green Sales in Cincinnati, OH 1800 543 4959. OE ford for about $250. The sending units are not sold separately an...

Re: Can't find gas tank float for front has tank

With the tenth diget being an M it is a 91 modle year. I will work some magic tomorrow and give you a part number and brand. Then you will be able to find the correct one. The older Ford fuel pumps and sending units were not sold as assemblys but separatally so the sending units have become scarce.

Re: Gasoline smell

You need to pull the the gen set out of the compartment. Remove the exhaust pipe from underneath. 1/2 in wrench on the clamp and a little wiggling to get it off. I put new retainer bolts on my gen set but it should have 9/16 heads. Remove the bolts also from underneath. You can then slide the genera...

Re: Gasoline smell

I had the same problem Weekender and Tucsonan had. The filler is the big tube and the fill vent tube is the little one. It is very common for the vent tube to crack on the ford vehicles of the era. I don't remember the length but it is 3/4 in. ID fuel safe hose. I spent a little extra and used silic...

Re: Water damage

My B is my third motorhome. The 79 c class was the worst. Owning these things has seem to be a lesson in repairs. I am a transmission tech by trade but fortunately for me I am a quick study and have made all the repairs over the years myself. Our local rv dealer helped with technique and rv products...

The one you found should have been between where the left and right bank come together just before the cat. On a 90 that's all there is.

Re: Emissions systems and removal thereof.

I know this is a old post. But on the air pump, It introduces fresh air into the exhaust system to help the catalytic converter remove excessive hydrocarbons (unburnt fuel) Converters combined oxygen with carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons to produce carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). We a...

Re: New to the world of B190's

Welcome to the sight. I also purchased my B for racing. I run Hair scrambles up and down the east coast from Florida to New York. From March until November. If somewhat on a budget the two thing that mostly improve the swaying is a Hellwig rear sway bar and good HD shocks. I am running Monroe. And a...

Re: High mileage B-190s out there?

Me and my girl purchased ours a year ago with high mileage for cheep. All major components worked but it had wear and tear on the inside. Re-did the shower, closet, medicine cabinet, some of the head liner, reupholstered the couch, Fixed the isolator (fuse) reinstalled (rattling around) the fridge (...

Re: Miles left until total failure of 4E0D?

I am a transmission builder with about 200+ E4OD/4R100 under my belt. Mostly from bus fleets (E350/450s) with diesel motors. I also recently re-rebuilt the unit in my B because the previous owner had it done but was failing with only 40K on it. If the transmission is actually the original virgin, fa...
