Smog test

Post by JellyBean »

Is there a way to predict whether a 1992 B190 purchased in WA (and passed a smog test there) will pass a smog test in CA? (CA has v strict smog test laws.) Any advice much appreciated.

I’ve done that, and not had a problem.

Did you make your purchase?

I don’t know if this actually works but I’ve been told by a Ford mechanic that you should have a full tank of gas and have the engine warmed up, nice and hot, when you take it in for a smog test. I have followed this advice and have never failed a smog test out here in California.
