Replace vacuum lines

Has anyone replaced the vacuum lines around the engine?!? Specifically the small colored (pink, green, red) PVC plastic hoses?!? What did you use?!?
I'm gearing up to replace all the vacuum lines - just as a point of maintenance - and I'm stumped on how to replace these. Leaning towards getting some 4mm ID silcone hoses and just going fitting to fitting with it (ie: not replace the nifty soft rubber boots on the Ford lines)
