Hi everyone! I've been slowly working on installing and configuring new software for the forums - the current software we use is horribly outdated, unsupported, and very insecure.

I'd like to get some volunteer beta testers to try it out - post messages, edit messages, etc., just to verify everything is working correctly.

Cool, thanks! I'm hoping I can set it up for testing tonight. I'll PM you with the URL when it's ready. You'll have the same username and password you use to log in here.

You may notice some things missing - namely, the downloads, the articles, and the FAQs. The new software doesn't have similar sections for these items, so my plan is to copy that information into posts in the new forum after it's up and running.

However, the photo gallery should make its way over unscathed as well as all of the posts in the forum. Those are the two most important things.

Once you get access, have some fun with it - make lots of posts, edit posts, do some searches, etc. It'll all be reset before we go live in production with it, so no worries. (Also, for the same reason, don't post anything valuable to the new site during testing, because it'll be deleted in preparation for going live.)

I'd like to have two or three more volunteers, please.

Okay, setting it up didn't go as planned tonight, so I'm going to work on it later this week. I thought I had the technique for transferring to the new software down, but it didn't go very well tonight, so I need to work on it some more. I'll keep you posted.

Okay, I sent you three a PM with the URL for the new forum...give it a shot and let me know if you have any problems (either post on the new forum, or send me a PM - please don't post them in this thread).
