New Owner...
New Owner...
Hi, I just acquired a 1991 with 460 in pretty good shape (I think). A little less than 70K miles. All the camper stuff seems to work ok. Everything had a good bit of storage dust so I am still cleaning up. Runs great on front tank, not so on rear tank. I do not know enough about it to ask questions now but I am sure I will later. This is my first motor home/camper. Experienced tent camper. Located near Greenwood, SC.
Thanks, JW

Welcome to the site!
Sounds like the rear fuel pump is bad, but that's just a guess off the top of my head.

Re: new owner
Thanks, I will start there.
While trying to clean debris from the main vent and the shower vent I damaged the plastic housing on both. The front vent is Maxxair and the shower is Phillips. Are parts available or should I just replace them? Any suggestion on sources? The inside plastic parts were very brittle from heat I guess.
Everything else seems to be in good operating condition.
Thanks for your help.

Parts should be available for at least the Maxxair vent. You may have to call them, but I've heard they're good to work with.
I've never heard of a Phillips vent...usually they use the Ventline fans in the bathroom. But parts are likely available for them, too.

Thanks Skater,
Re: new owner
The Maxxair item is probably just a cover over the main vent, added after the motorhome was manufactured. That main vent is likely made by Fantastic Vent:

The shower vent is likely a Ventline Vanair VP-543. Here's a diagram to help you determine if that's what you have:

Re: new owner
Good catch - I didn't think of that (despite the fact that our trailer has TWO of those covers). I guess I was figuring that someone had replaced the Fantastic Vent with a MaxxAir fan.EricZ wrote:The Maxxair item is probably just a cover over the main vent, added after the motorhome was manufactured. For the other one, I wondered about that, too, but I'm pretty sure the ones I've seen don't say "Philips" on them anywhere that I've seen. Pictures would be helpful, of course.

Re: new owner
I think you are correct about the Maxxair being cover only. It is fairly new looking. The fan and lid under it appear to be original 1991 model. I was able to replace the switch and get it running. A little loud but a cheap fix. The other (shower) vent also looks to be original and fell apart when I tried to remove the inside screen and cover. It looks like the Vanair vp-543 is a drop in replacement so I ordered one. FYI the old one has a blade fan like the old main vent instead of the "blower wheel" type on the Vanair. Everything else looks similar.
Thanks for your help.
