Great, scratch off one mall item from the todo list !
The best outcome would have been that the key worked, but nope.
However it turns out that it’s super easy to swap the cylinder. So that’s what I did for one of them. I used the new cylinder, the new angled lock bar, and the new bolt. If you tighten it too much you won’t be able to turn the lock, so I may slap some Loctite on the bolt when I get both locks working.
I never realized how cheap the original lock was. There are no pins; it’s just a single piece of metal that slides up to allow you to turn the cylinder.
Next up, buying another one and hoping the keys match. (Based on the “keyed alike” note, they should...)
