Broken Awning Support
On a camping trip this weekend we set up our awning. I did notice that one of the supports wasn't hanging right and it was bending the metal strip (I'm sure this is making no sense so if I need to explain better, please let me know). When we went to roll up the awning before hitting the road for home, I raised the support and it snapped off - a piece of plastic that was holding it together was twisted and I could tell it snapped from stress. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy this little plastic piece and put the support back together? I'm really bummed...the awning is one of my favorite aspects of our B.

Thanks Alaskan, it is a Fiamma, but I'm not sure which one yet. I did check out their website and saw replacement parts, so I just have to figure out what part(s) specifically it is that I need. I think it's really only a little plastic piece that broke, so it's just a matter of figuring out how things go back together.

The Horizon awnings as installed on our B190's were sold by A7E (Dometic) but manufactured by Fiamma. The A&E part numbers are not the same as Fiamma. Trust me I have been through this before with A&E. Besides Fiamma parts are cheaper and fit perfectly. Any how I need to order the same awning parts you need. Call Bob at Fiamma (407) 672-0091 he will help you determine which awning you have and give you the part numbers to order through your dealer along with the retail prices. Fiamma will drop ship directly to you. If you have the F45plus awning as I do the parts you are looking for are "Leg and Parts Kit # 98655-158. See my full writeup on B190 awnings at "anything about Airstream 190 class B motor homes". I hope this site will add it to the link section.

awning broke
Hello,
Glad to find this info.
I just broke my awning now. Same place...the plastic part. Did yours go on easily after you installed it?
Err. just got my water heater working and now it stopped again. What else can go wrong?
Thanks,
Joan

I talked to sudec over IM last night. She said that they've had the igniter replaced recently, then it stopped working again, they took it back and the shop moved some wires, then on this most recent trip it wouldn't re-light on the second day. It sounds like there's a loose connection in one of the wires or something like that, and the shop is working on tracking down the problem.Alaskan wrote:ya Joan....
