Smell from toilet

Post by marko »

Hello,

When the waste tank has been used for a few days and I start driving there is a bad smell in the cab -

My thoughts are it's coming up through either the kitchen sink or the bath - either could have a lack of water in their U bends -

Any other thoughts or solutions?

thanks

Mark

We have the same issue. Try running some fresh water down the toilet and kitchen drains. Also, put a drain plug in the shower stall drain. These steps always do the trick for us and the odor abates in about ten minutes. Hope this helps.

Marko, I don't know if you saw this post. It might help.

I had this same problem and I replaced the vent caps with the Syphon 360 mentioned. It worked great and took care of the odor problem.

Hardware store should have various size rubber drain stoppers

Thank you very much - so is it just an UN powered vent? Is it effective and easy to install?

Yes. The vent is unpowered.

Here's a link to the 360 Siphon web page

And a youtube video I found. I saw a couple of others out as well.

Hope this helps
