1997 B190 Attaching pipe to holdeing tank

Post by mistercmo »

Hi All,

I am replacing all the piping on the demp side of the gray and black holding tanks. What is the correct/best way to attach the pipes to the gray & black water tanks?

My B190 (recent purchase) had a 3"X1.5" reducer stuffed INTO the gray water tank 3" outlet and then a hose clamp around the outside of the tank outlet. Doesn't seem to be quite right but looks to have been working OK for years. The outlet from the black water tank obviously had not been workin for quite a while. The same technique was used, but apparently the 3" pipe that connects to the tank was a little short and someone had wrapped the joint with a piece of innertube and then put 2 hose clamps, one connecting the rubber to the 3" pipe and the other connecting the rubber to the tank outlet. Over the years the rubber deteriorated ETC (yuk!).

How were these connections done at the factory? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hoping for a maiden voyage 10K mile summer wander starting in a week or two.

Cheers,
Charlie

I just went out and looked at my '94. It looks similar to yours except for the inner tube part! Send me your Email address, and I send you a picture. Bob
