No flow at the sink for hot water

Post by skater »

The subject says it all, actually. The hot water doesn't flow at the sink, or gives just a trickle. It seems worse when it's hot. There has to be a restriction somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Shower seems to work fine.

So I'm thinking it's probably the kitchen faucet itself - anyone else have any ideas?

So, after fumbling around with this for a while this morning, I swapped the hot and cold cartridges to eliminate those as a source of the problem. Now both sides work perfectly! Either they are different, and I (or someone else) swapped them by accident at some point in the past, or something about when I installed them this time worked different (I know I didn't tighten them down quite as much as they were - maybe that was it). Anyway, I'm happy.

I wasn't sure what to call them. Some faucet manufacturers use that term, others call them "stems". It's the plastic pieces that control the flow of the water. They bolt into the faucet itself, then the plastic handles (that you grab) screw to the top of them.
