Meet our pets

Post by skater »

Post your pictures of your pets in this thread.

Here's Snowball (someday I'll get a pic of him actually in the camper, but he does go with me):

Closest thing I have to a pet....he's around everyday in the summer attempting to raid my greenhouse, does that count as a pet.....? Hate it when that happens...

Well, that depends - does he sleep in the upper bunk at night?

Thats my gardening greenhouse... and he's not welcome there.

He doesn't like rubber bullets, cracker-shells over his head, or the water hose much either...

But, as with most bears, his memory is rather short and a couple days later he comes wandering back down the beach for another visit....

We have a fabulous (politically correct) Poodle named Louis Armstrong.
When you have a 7 year old grandaughter your not allowed to talk about your dogs preferences, suffice to say Louis gets along fabulously with our daughters Dacshund Nate.
Still we love the our screwey louie!

Skater, I see where back in 2007 you said you travel with your cat. I used to travel with mine (now deceased) in my Class C. Now I have the B190 and am getting another cat tomorrow. My question is where do you put it's dishes and even more important where does the litter box go?

His dishes were in front of the stove on the floor - the cabinets were farther in than the couch, so it left a small nook there for the cat dishes. Never had an issue with using the stove either. It made access to those cabinets slightly harder, but it wasn't a big deal, and we kept things we didn't use often in it.

The litter box was in the shower tub. We almost never used the shower, but when we did need it, I'd just move it out in front of the couch temporarily.

Wow...how has it been that long? According to the control panel, we actually started it on Sat Feb 16, 2002 at 8:10 pm. That's wrong - I'm guessing that date got messed up during the transition from the php-Nuke system to our current phpBB system. My first post on this site was March 24, 2007, so I probably started it at that time. Of course, the Yahoo group was alive long before that.

Sad note: Snowball, the cat in the picture, passed away last April. :(

What a great topic! Here is my crew. Too many names to remember, but here we go - Rico, Scratch, Ladybug, Emilio, Domingo, Dee Dee:
Yes, they all fit in the B190 and they each have their own place to sit.

wow, and we have two older dogs that mainly sleep, eat and uh...like to go outside. I think the B190 will be fine for traveling with them. Glad to get rid of carpet though and get something more waterproof. Latte and Jazz are very nice companions except they will have to sleep on the floor because do not trust them being in upper bunk area.

I like the idea of posting pics of our pets and have been meaning to do it for some time. Sorry I couldn't get the pics to stand upright. This is Betsy who is, we are told, a Pug/Lab mix.We adopted her from a shelter when she was two and she had her 17 birthday earlier this month. Lucky for us she absolutely loves to travel and has been all over during the last 15 years. When the van is being loaded she claims shotgun, which is where she rides when there is just the two of us, and when my wife is along and tries to talk her into moving, she pretends to be asleep. "If I just close my eyes maybe she'll go away."

We recently were getting ready for a long road trip and my wife was wondering about a way to let the dog be up front to see out the windows without either dog or wife being uncomfortable with hours of a dog in her lap. My wife came up with this concept...

We made this pet hammock/shelf out of hardware store PVC tubing and a fabric sleeve sewed by my wife. One corner (short leg) rest on the dash console, one corner (long leg) drops to the floor near the door side of the dash and the last corner/leg drops to the floor in the foot well at the rear of the front door. We use a velcro strap to lash the outside edge of the frame to the passenger door pull grip in order to keep the frame extra stable. My wife prefers to get in and out via the aisle rather than using the door. She gets in and out of the seat via the aisle without moving the dog or the frame. Happy dog Roxie and happy owner. :)
