1993 B190 For Sale in Bellingham, WA

Post by quattom »

The time has come to move on to something bigger. I just don't know what yet. So up for sale is our awesome 1993 B190 with custom dinette. It has 104K miles and 71 hours on the genny. The tires are less than 2 years old! I'm asking $11,500.

Here's a craigslist for all the details: http://bellingham.craigslist.org/rvs/6028710513.html

It's relisted and the updated link is working, for now. I also have my Diesel Land Rover up for sale and someone flagged that after an hour too!

My craigslist ad keeps getting flagged. I'm not sure why but it appears to be on their end. So here is the description of my van that I've tried posting several times:

Up for sale is our wonderful camper. If you don't know much about Airstream B190s I encourage you to google them. They have quite the following despite less than 1500 being made between 1989 and 1999. We've owned several Vanagons and EuroVans before deciding to buy this van 3 years ago. As much as I love VW vans, we decided this would be a better choice for long cross-country roadtrips. And after several extended trips including a 6 week/10,000 mile excursion to the east coast we found this van to be the most reliable vehicle we've ever owned. It's also been really nice to climb mountain passes with ease! The van currently has 104,802 miles and 71 hours on the generator.

I am a European car technician in Bellingham. I did perform all necessary maintenance that the van required. The only actual repair I had to make was replacing the idle air control valve. I also replaced the fuel pump for preventative measures. Here's a list of work performed since October 2014;

New BF Goodrich Commercial T/A tires (May 2015)
Full tune-up (spark plugs, ignition wires, dist. cap and rotor, PCV valve, filters)
Drive belts
Air/smog pump delete
regular 3k mile oil changes (most recent at 104,798k miles)
fuel pump
idle air control valve
Hot water heater (the new runs on propane and/or electricity)
Kitchen faucet
Toilet
I also removed the running boards. I just don't care for them but I do have them and all the brackets.

Here's a list of some repairs done by the previous owner in 2014;

Transmission service at 86K miles (7/14)
Upper ball joints
Lower ball joints
Reseal roof
New flooring
New curtains

I have a lot of receipts for this van.

Safety is a big concern of mine. I didn't want our children facing sideways on the original couch while traveling. So I ordered a pair of custom seats and installed them facing forward in place of the original couch/bed. I also made a platform so that a lower bed for 1-2 adults can be utilized or a spot for a "pack-n-play" crib which is where my youngest sleeps. I should point out that all four of us do fit in the upper bunk, it's 6 x 6.5 feet-we use king size sheets! If you prefer the original couch/bed set up, I have everything that I removed. It can easily go back to it's original state in an hour or two.

Everything works, The only items that someone might want to address are the front seats. The armrests are separating and some of the manual seat controls have broken handles. Both seat bottoms have fabric that is starting to wear out. None of this really bothered us. I also ordered enough fabric to recover the front seats so they match the rear custom seats. There is a very minor exhaust leak when it's cold. It goes away when the engine warms up so I never bothered repairing it.

Texting is easiest and will get the fastest response. But, feel free to call or reply via email too. Thanks for looking.

Looks like a great rig! I'm sure others have been wishing for more than 2 forward facing seats. It looks like you did the floor, is that right? I think that's a great selling point you might want to mention. Also, does it have an oven? Couldn't tell from the pictures. Good luck selling, I'm sure it will go fast.

The previous owner had the flooring installed. That is mentioned in the ad. The original oven/stove is still in place and is in great condition. It looks like it was hardly used. Thanks for your input.
