Swivel chair plastic handle

Post by JoeD »

Ive read about people replacing their captain chairs. Im deciding to go with reupholstery, but a couple years ago the handle to engage the swivel mechanism on the left arm of the passenger captain chair broke. I was able to take the one from the driver side chair apart and replace it so at least I get swivel in the more used swivel chair. Wondering if any of the people who replaced their chairs have this coveted part?! Seems like a long shot, but thanks.

Joe I've been looking for over a year haven't had any luck as of yet.
If you find one let me know where you got lucky. The handle broke on mine its easy to release the swivel mechanism by reaching underneath the chair but a pain. Image

I got new chairs last summer at coachsupplydirect.com. He kept my old chairs and at least two of the arm releases were still ok. I have no idea if he still has them but it may be worth a call 800.589.7251

Too bad. We had actually had the old seats reupholstered a couple of years so they were in good shape except for the damn levers! The new chairs are really nice and this guy had the best price but it was still expensive, about $1800 if I remember correctly (with shipping to California). We just happened to be on a road trip to Lake Michigan so stopped by his shop. Good luck with your search. I contacted Flexsteel and they don't make them or have any idea where to get them

Thanks for the info anyway Cliff mine were just reupholstered before the handle broke (Murphy's Law) I have the broken piece thinking of just gluing it into place. For cosmetic reasons $1800 for new seats isn't going to happen soon have a few more things to do before that just put a transmission and good shocks. hopefully in the fall it can go in for paint the driver side is pretty sun-baked.

Keep your eyes open for me if you see one let me know it will be the day after I glue this one back together again.
