now, Some of you have no idea what I am talking about for up until 1994 the ceiling is covered with "ratfur", I heard it called. This is what we have on the side walls of the 1995, but the ceiling is vinyl sheet.

Have any of you upgraded the ceiling? If so, with what? Would you post images of replaced ceiling please? My mind's eye just can not picture it.

The vinyl is the same stuff we have in the trailer. It separates from the backing. In the trailer, we’re just leaving it bare aluminum, but that’s not really an option here.

The “rat fur” (I’ve always heard it called mouse fur) is a material called Ozite - or that might be the brand name. Our trailer has it on the walls, too.

I am laughing so hard right now because the carpet that is on the ceiling was some what of a surprise. Never knew what it was called(mouse fur or rat fur). It was already hard enough to have carpet on ceiling however, rat fur could ruin it. However, I have vacuumed it many times and it is not separating from the ceiling yet. I accept any positives I can garnish from this renovation.

Mouse fur is also easier on the noggin when you accidentally sit up in the middle of the night in the top bunk!

Finish with the vinyl replacement. It was a bit of work, more than I'd care to do again. Just a lot of dry fitting. It looks more like a boat cabin. We left the bathroom vinyl for now.

All the shrouds, light, ac, vent, were given a coat of white paint. This makes for a much better appearance. Here is the before and after.

fitting around the ac and vent is a bit tricky. It help to make a cardboard template first.
