Cutain Hanging Devices

Post by Abie Sea »

We have a 1989 B190 and are in the process of replacing what appears to be the original curtains. The problem is that the curtain hanging devices have deteriorated. The rail is plastic with a slot for the sliders (nylon or plastic in a I-beam form, visualize a 1/2" by 1/4" block with a under a 1/8" channel in the middle of each side of the block)that fixed on a tape that is sewn on to the curtains. Does anyone have information on where the slider tape can be purchased? We have salvaged some of the old slider tapes to apply to the new curtains, but several slides have detached from the tapes and we would like to purchase replacement tapes. We could also use information on the plastic rails as one has deteriorated to the point it can not be screwed into the frame. I would have attached pictures but I have not figured how to do that.

It appears that airstream did little change from the Okanagan disign those first few years. My 88* Okanagan's had that same plastic rails and plastic clip tape system. It failed miserably and we opted to scrap the whole system. There were half inch aluminum bars onside and rear barn doors that used rod pockets we opted to keep that.
We would not recommend you utilize that tape and plastic clip system in your replacement.

Our 95 airstream utilizes an aluminum rail and plastic tabs system. The years seem to have been kinder to the set up.

There are a number of different hanging systems you can utilize. Here are some links:
