Interior insulation.

Post by BDWAX »

Even though i wont own a b190 till end of year possibly next year I'm trying to make a list of possible pitfalls that will need to be be fixed or upgraded.
I currently live in a 1978 excella 500 airstream and one thing i need to do is re-insulate the walls.
My question is is this the same with B190's or are they well insulated when made or do i need to prepair to reinsilate it I'm gonna be looking at years between 1997 and 1999 for mine when the time comes.
Thanks for info in advance.

I have started removing interior panels. There are large gaps which are uninsulated. The areas which have insulation consist of balled up fiberglass and an amateur attempt at using canned spray foam. Once all the panels are removed I will use some high density closed cell spray foam on the hull. Followed up with some thin fiberglass matting to reduce noise.

I am less than impressed with the Airstream insulation quality and job.
