Replace shower faucet
I have to replace the faucet in the tub/shower in my B190.
Do I have to remove the gas cooking stove in order to replace the shower faucet??? If I do have to remove the cooking stove is it easy to do? Has any of you folks done this before?

Re: Replace shower faucet
I've wondered about this myself. I don't think that's how you get there - I think you have to take apart the shower enclosure.dougb wrote:I have to replace the faucet in the tub/shower in my B190.

Removing the oven isn't that hard, I don't think - there are four screws holding it in place under the stove top - remove the gas line, and wrestle it out, I think.

Faucet Repair
I had a problem with my faucet last year and after taking off the front of the unit, it looked as though the only access was from the oven side. I didn't have the time to mess with the oven and instead put a gob of repair stick I purchased at Home Depot around the area that was leaking and it seemed to fix the leak. Now that we might have some down time I plan on taking the oven out and fixing the thing the right way, but before I do I think that I will call Airstream and get their intake as to the right way to do the job. I think the earlier post about the oven is the way to go though.
If interested, check out an earlier post under plumbing (leak under the shower pan) and You will find another post explaining the use of the putty, it's name etc.

Re: Replace shower faucet
Good News!!!
I replaced my faucet in the tub on my 1990 b190....It was real easy....I lifted of the burner top and removed the 2 phillips screws on each side of the stove top.....disconnected the gas line and pulled the stove out to expose the back of the faucet lines...It took me less then a hour to do everything. It is just like new again.

Re: Replace shower faucet
This is a very old thread, but it's 5:30am and I've been up for the last 3 hours, trawling the internet with multiple cups of tea (as one does!) I've spent the last hour or so on this forum. It's bits of info like this that make this site so valuable. I just replaced the shower hose on my '93 B190, and was wondering how to access the space behind the faucet assembly, if I ever have to replace or service it. It's a relief to know that gaining access should be relatively easy. Thank you Doug!
