1987 OKanagan B190

Post by skater »

A friend of mine in WDCU recently purchased this gem from someone he knows. The story is that it was originally labeled OKanagan, but Airstream offered to re-label it as an Airstream for the original owner so he could join the WBCCI.

Some nice touches inside:

It's a carburated 460 under the hood. No generator - not even a spot for one (the spot under the couch is empty, and you can see there's access panel on that side). I'm not sure if the metal hoods on the windows are stock or not. We couldn't figure out the awning - it's not a crank arm like the other case awnings on the B190s. It has a brake controller, but no hitch on the back. The water fill and city water connection are between the side doors and the fridge, curbside.

It's in beautiful condition, inside and out. It doesn't look 26 years old. Actually, it doesn't look old at all. I'm pretty sure he said that it had been stored indoors, and mostly used to travel to Florida and back.

I have more pictures here. Enjoy!

Very Cool Rig! Would love to hear more about the window shields--seems like they would be very helpful for ventilation when it is raining.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a closeup of them, but it looks like they can be slid back and forth. I think they had a track mounted on the side of the van. Hopefully the owner will pop in and give us more information. :)

I believe it was a couple years later when Airstream purchased, from Okanagan, the rights to produce the vans we have now...from 1989 thru 1999/2000, somewhere around 1300 total B190 vans were produced by Airstream
