Barn Find

I found this in a barn in 2011 and finally, last night, we brought it home. Only two prior owners with just over 36,000 miles. We will have lots of questions in the coming days! Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to post more than one photo. I did a little research and found it was constructed in June of '88 and is sequential #42 for the year, so there aren't too many older than this. It's built on the Econoline 250 running gear with a 351.

We are very excited and will start the cleaning process this weekend, keeping a photographic diary.

Wow, I just bought this 1989 Okanagan with 36,000 original miles! What a coincidence. Image

interior held up pretty well, carpet was rough. We decided to turn up the heat and do it right, plus my wife became more invested in the project. We ordered an interior package from Shop4Seats.com which includes two captain chairs and a jack knife sofa. We are installing the new vinyl this weekend, as well as the carpet kit for the front seating area. We had a custom, two-piece mattress made, and we are waiting for the new curtains to be completed. The RV shop installed a new AC, toilet, and some other 'can't live without' items, as well as made sure every things is functioning properly. We've decided to pull the 1400 watt generator in favor of a 3100 watt portable which will stay on the car trailer. Should be ready in the next couple weeks for our maiden voyage to the vintage races in Spokane, WA the first weekend of June. Once its all together, I will post some photos.

Since the first year Airstreams were built by Okanagan, out differences are probably limited to a bit of trim here and there, and the logo.

Very cool!
