Can someone tell me if we can put a agm under the couch and two wet cells up front. Would it work? robert.

Not great, one type of battery will likely wear out sooner than expected. But it won’t blow up or anything.

I’d be tempted to use only the AGM, or putting in a dual battery bank switch.

It's probably not the best idea as skater said especially if your using the original parallax 6300 converter or charging off the alternator agm batteries are sealed and require a lower charge voltage. Overcharging will cause them to swell and rupture were flooded lead acid batteries can take 14.5 or a bit higher even though they can boil if taking a heavy charge they are vented allowing the hydrogen gas to escape. With that being said when using lead acid make shure they are under the hood or in a vented compartment like the generator compartment as some have done. AGM batteries can be used inside but before you do upgrade your converter to one with smart charging technology.

We have had 1 group 27 wet cell battery under the couch for 3 yrs and it is doing fine. We leave the top vent open just a crack. No explosion yet. Robert.

The risk is that if it overcharges for some reason, it'll vent gas into the camper. This is not a good idea.

I hope you have a co.2 detector hydrogen gas will set it off. Originally a previous owner had put a battery under the couch in mine. After a trip I plugged in and hours later the co.2 detector was going off in the driveway the battery was really hot and boiling. I vented it and shut everything down. Exactly what the fuel are mixture needs to be to cause a explosion im not shure and don't want to find out! I replaced the battery with 2 group 31 agm deep cycles but to do that the converter needed to be upgraded to one compatible with the lower charging voltage of agm batteries. Good luck.

I am also wondering if there is a AGM battery that would fit under the hood.I would like to swap both House batteries out. The one under my couch with AGM battery for ventilation safety reasons.
