Post by Alaskan »

I got moved...thanks RJ

Well...if you happen to be out in western Washington I'd suggest Deception Pass State Park right on the water..

If you're in Washington on the Olympic Peninsula be sure to check out Port Townsand......there's a very neat waterfront RV campground with a great view out into Puget Sound.

Or another State Park with waterfront camping at Port Townsand, Fort Warden

Those are indeed great places. Just a minor spelling note, though I think the Googles would know what you meant: Port Townshend and Fort Worden.

My buddy owns a Road Trek 190 and often goes from Seattle to PT, camping on the street right in front of his favorite coffee shop (of course, this was in the before times). His wife goes to bed early, as does the kiddo, so he heads to the brewpub for a beer, then comes back to the van later. In the morning, they open the door, and head right in for a coffee and pastry!

If you go, the Kinetic Sculpture Race is a good time, and the Pygmy Boat factory is well worth a visit. They do laser-cut stitch-and-glue boat kits, really really nice stuff. Beautiful kayaks, and a canoe, and rowing wherry. Don't say I didn't warn you.
