Fitting a new converter...

My 32 amp converter is bad. (11 volts? Yeah, that's kinda low.) The current converter (a Magnetek 6300 A series, model 6332) is on a tray with dimensions of 12" wide, 4.5" tall, and 7.5" deep.

I'd like to replace it with this, the 60 amp Intelli-Power model, but I'm seeing a problem: it won't fit. According to the site, the 60 amp Intelli-Power is 9" wide, 3.6" tall, and 8" deep - in short, a measly half inch too deep.

The Intelli-Power 45 amp model would fit, but there wouldn't be any air space above it. Is the lack of air space above it a problem? I'd really like to upgrade to a higher amperage model if I could, but if it's going to be significantly harder I'll consider the 45 amp.

My other thought was to mount the new unit on the floor somehow by the converter (it's under the couch, so it's still out of the way) and drill holes in the tray for the wiring. I can't easily ditch the tray or make major modifications to it because the cover panel bolts to the tray. I haven't investigated this in detail but finding room there shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone have any other suggestions? I'd like to stick with the Intelli-Power brand, because I've read a lot of good things about them.
