Auxiliary Battery Relay

Post by Rhettb »

I have a 1992 B190 which is does not charge the Auxiliary Battery when the engine is running. I believe the problem may be the Aux battery relay but I can not find it. I assume the relay located behind the driver side headlight is the starter relay. I have checked the 60 amp fuse in the distribution box which can cause the same failure to charge but the fuse is OK. Can anyone tell me where to find the Aux battery relay, I'm stumped.

Try looking underneath the engine battery tray, bolted to the wheel well. The hubby says it's a royal pain to get to.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Yes! it is a royal pain to find and remove. It took all my patience and my wife's small hands to retrieve the mounting bolt I dropped into the bottom of the fender well. Unbelievable that they couldn't find an easier location for a part that is subject to failure. The job is done and the house battery charges off the alternator again.
