Just curious to know if this is a viable option.
Seems simple enough and inexpensive(well almost)
What do you think?

I replaced mine a couple years ago (though I used a different brand). See the "Articles" section of the site for a writeup I did about it. Totally worth every penny. It's nice not having the converter frying your battery all the time (leave it plugged in and have the battery charged but not overcharged - I do this all the time). In my case, the old converter was down to about 11 volts, so my florescent light was flickering, the radio would shut off if the water pump ran, and other bizarre problems occurred.

I was so happy with it that I promised myself that the next camper I buy will get the same treatment ASAP after purchasing.
