Furnace Screech - Upgrade Options?

Post by Marko Polo »

Heya guys -

The furnace screech topic has been covered well on this site. Just wondering two things: Did those of you who replaced the motor find it easy to get the parts? Did you go OEM or replace the whole unit?

Second:

I dry-dock every winter in Colorado. (-0 degree temperatures, etc.). Is there an upgraded furnace that puts out more heat, circulates more air, and draws less electricity for the fan? I know this is fantasy, but i'd love to put out more heat using less power.

Thanks ya'll.

Keystone did a great write up on replacing hers and I tore mine apart and lubed it internally with graphite and so far so good, no more screech, 6 months and counting. It might be worth it to see if you can get another season out of it, otherwise there are better options out there for sure. Do a search on the Expedition Portal forum, a lot of helpful/knowledgeable folks over there too!!!
