If I wanted to try run it on 120, I could just use the plug that is right there in the back of the refer compartment, couldn’t I?

Yes, that's what it's for. I wonder why it was unplugged...

New refer is installed and doing its job!

It’s easy, easy, easy to take the old one out and put the new one in.
