Rear air bags

I want to remove the rear airbags from my 1994 B190. When I put air in them I feel it jacks up the rear too far. But when low on air I believe the mounts are restricting the suspension travel and bottoming out on themselves over bigger bumps. I think they are the Firestone ones. Can anyone enlighten me on these things? Thanks

I have those installed on our 93 made by Air Lift. You don't need much pressure in them. I set mine at 30psi and the ride is good. With no air you will bottom out, as the rubber bump stops have to be removed to install the Air Lift. I think their latest version has a bump stop built in, but mine are older versions. Lifetime warranty.

The down-side of those air bags is they change the spring-rate so much that it severely affects the ride.....in most cases they are only installed to raise the back of the rig.

Better option if your goal is to raise your rig slightly...
