Sway Bar won't Fit

Post by Sheila G »

Hi All,

I purchased a 7183 Hellswig rear sway bar for my 2000 B-190 a few weeks ago and today my friends husband was going to be so kind and install it for me. Only it wouldn't fit. :( The freshwater tank was in the way. Several months ago the freshwater tank broke and was hanging down dragging on the ground. I took her to an RV repair shop to have it fixed. I'm wondering if they installed a different size or shape tank and this is causing the problem. Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas what I can do to fix this? I plan on driving up Big Sur from LA to Mendocino and I'm a little nervous about driving this road without the sway bar installed. She rocks and rolls on flat roads with just a little bit of wind.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,
Just installed one on my 1997. On mine, I had to rotate the brackets (installed on the axle). This moved the bar closer to the differential and allowed the bar to clear the tank. Took some fine tuning but it worked.
Cheers
