This Ford website will allow you to see if your van has any RECALLS that have not been repaired...
The most recent Ford recalls that many of our vans fit into, especially the 1996 and newer, is related to the Cruise Control pressure switch on the mastercylinder....this switch has caused many vehicles to catch fire and in several cases these rigs were parked where they caught homes on fire also
I had 4 Ford vehicles that fell into this recall...until I could get them all into a Ford Service Center I disconnected the plug that goes to the defective switch as 2 of these vehicles are parked inside every night....
