I wrote a quick little program (I'll put it on the web at some point) to decode Airstream VINs based on the document that usachris linked to above. For testing, I was throwing in VINs from this thread, and it took me several minutes to figure out why yours didn't validate. Turns out the G and V are swapped.

Ok skater sorry it took me a few days my 93 numbers are.

Hello! Although I recently sold my B190, I wanted to add the VIN information to this thread for your record-keeping.
It's a 1990 Airstream B190 on a Ford Econoline 350 body.

I've uploaded my VIN decoder here (for now). It can also decode Airstream trailer VINs from 1969-present.

Next up, I want to write a "VIN creator" that will let you kind of do the reverse to help figure out why a VIN isn't decoding correctly.

I just wrote a little program (not online yet) that will pull records for a given VIN. For example, slapthecat's (sorry I keep going back to you, but I happen to have two records for your unit in the database):

I also want to write a "VIN builder" that will help diagnose errors in the VINs. And a data entry form to make it easier to add B190s to the database. Actually, the latter thing is probably more important...right now it's a bit tedious.

She was purchased new in Nokomis Fla. and spent most of it's time in Louisiana then Mississippi. I purchased her in 2013 in Mississippi, and drove her out to Sahuarita, AZ.

Currently, I am slowly restoring most things in the interior. The only major change is removing the sofabed and replacing with a dinette over the generator box.

I've updated the VIN decoder; it's now much more complete. Enjoy. It will work with any vehicle VIN, including trailers, cars, and trucks.

Looks like I have 91 unique B190s in the database (not as many as I estimated before). Amusingly, I have four that have shown up 3 times each in the list. I continue to work on this as I get time, which is why progress is slow.

That was a huge help, Sheila! We know they made some in 2000, but not how many. Yours is the newest one we've found! It's also the only 2000 I have listed in the database.

We now know there are at least 1,343 B190s made; it's likely there were at least 1,379 if Airstream started with sequence number 1.
