For anyone looking to convert a non B190 Ford Van to a camper.

There are two companies which do them: Colorado Campers and Sportsmobile. In my opinion, they are a bit overpriced if you're going to go through the company. However, the owner posted his original build in the link above so if you already have one that's not worth much and just want a cheap camper I think you can DIY it fairly easily.
Just so you know it's doable, I just picked up an older e150 with a fiberglass top for under $500; mainly for the interior but I might convert it all the way. The downside is that the head room before the pop top is only 5ft and of course it's a bit smaller. However, they get way better gas mileage, cost a lot less, and once you install the popup mechanism you could still have enough room for a small kitchen, bed, removable toilet, and storage. Maybe use as a day camper?

For those interested here is a link to a thread I made on another forum which has plenty of links to get ideas from:

One of the builds was compared to putting a coleman popup on top of the car.

Only made in Europe, but a cool layout. Of course, not as good as a B190
