Kind of interesting, to know what people did, if retired or do, if still contributing to the the government.

I worked for Anderson windows, division that made, sold and Installed the Renewel by Anderson replacement window, I was a service tech that went in to customers homes and took care of after install and warranty issues. Miss the people I worked with, not the company. As all companies today, it became all about profits and beating last quarters projections and OSHA and managers and engineers that didn't ask because they new it all 8O ... Got out before I couldn't take it anymore and my health was still good. :D

That is part of the fun with camping or touring life to see how others lived their lives before and still ended up on the open road(or in a campground). I enjoyed the 40 years in dentistry as a dentist helping people look better or get out of pain(hopefully, not causing much). That profession has one working in a concentrated area and the windows in the treatment room would look out on woods/road. One day I would be able to travel and see a few things on my own time. Hopefully, will have many years to explore and stop to investigate people, places and things. This forum is a fun go to place for help and humor.

I met a guy at a campground that was a dentist under a contract with the military. He'd travel around to different bases, provide dental services for a few weeks, then move on to another base. Cool job!

I signed up after dental school and was a Navy dentist for three years until got out in private practice for many years. Stationed at NAS Jacksonville for 1 year as a division officer after 2 years at King's Bay Submarine Base in Georgia. Did some reserve weekend duty for a few years then moved to NC. I enjoyed my short military time and it set the tone for the years of private practice. Many of the lessons I learned were carried into the practice. However, I looked out of the window (between patients!)for many years thinking one day I will travel.

Worked for the City over 30 years as a Building Inspector. I retired from there is 2011. I also have a Commercial Lawn Care Company that I started in 1981 which is still active and growing every year. We are up to 15 employees during the peak season. We DO NOT do snow removal so I am off from December thru the end of February. I take my Diesel Pusher to Texas (San Antonio) during that time.

We used to call those dentists "contract dentists" and they became essential to take care of the personnel. There simply was not enough active duty dentists to take care of folks. Usually, those contract dentists would be on a yearly basis for some stability of treatment but, given the need there may have had many other contract agreements.

8-10 years to go before retirement! Own a reservation and marketing service for Bed and Breakfast's and Vacation Rentals, mostly in the Washington DC market. www.BedandBreakfastdc.com, www.VacationRentalsDC.com. Not sure the B will be our choice when retirement comes (it will be 32 or 36 years old by then!), but plans are to spend the first few years traveling the US and Canada-- all the National Parks, state Capitol's -- the list is endless

In and around the Air Force (Active, Guard, Reserve) for 30 years. Former flight engineer. My current aerospace vehicle (Eloise) is only 10' high and 19' long, but I'm enjoying what we used to call "low and slow" (anything not a jet).

I have always like playing with things that had a engine. At 18 I got a job at a Cottman Transmission as a installer. They saw something in me and let me built my first transmission a year latter. Between my engineering ability, photographic memory and the ability to be able to actually turn a wrench I became a invaluable commodity in the transmission industry. At 25 I purchased the shop from the boss. In 2009 I walked away when the economy crashed because nobody had money or they were trading the car in for cash for clunkers. I took a year off and put some serious miles on my Ultra, Sturgis, Laconia, Tail of the Dragon Etc... Started working for the home office and different shops as a trouble shooter and builder. Started taking Hare Scramble racing seriously and try to race every weekend from March to end of October which I still do, hence the need for the B. August of 2014 my son rented a shop and I have been goofing off there ever since.
