Wow, okay.

I'll play with it tonight and see if I can get the problem to occur. It sounds like it's happening with long messages...

Okay. You're stumping me on this one.

There is an upper limit for the maximum message size, and if you exceed that it'll just dump you back out to the home page. But I posted messages with approximately 12,000 characters (which was all of the text in that for sale thread plus some text from an article on Wikipedia) and had no problem, either with my regular account or a test account I created.

Do you have the exact text that you were trying to post? If so, could you please send it to me in an email?

Found it!

Phil stumbled on to a security measure in the software. :)

You can use the word -union- (without the dashes) alone. Phil is from -Union- City, Tennessee, which was at the bottom of his message. :)

The word -union- can be used in a hacking method known as an "SQL Injection" attack - basically, what people try to do is get spam messages into the forum by bypassing the normal registration and content checks.

There's not much I can do to fix the problem without making the board more easily hacked into, which we don't want. Using dashes around the word -union-, as I've done in this message, seems to avoid the filter.
