Hurricane tips?!?!

Post by slapthecat »

Ok B190 buddies. Has anyone had their B go through a hurricane?!?
I'm sitting here in Orlando, and have my B all prepped to live out of after the storm passes, as long as the B survives! It's going to be outside, parked alongside the house, facing north (so the wind comes up the back - dont want the wind coming up underneath the overhang!)

Just wondering if anyone on here has been through this and how did you fare? Any precautions you took that helped?!? Where did the water get in and what would you do to stop it the next time?!?

Thanks all...

Sorry to hear that you are in Irma's path.

Couple of thoughts...
... one thought would be to try to re-enforce the roof vent or AC shroud in case they take a hit from flying debris.
... I'd park it so that the over cab window is out of the wind as much as possible. I'd rather something hit the back than the front.
... I'm sure you are already planning to have some duct tape and plastic ready in case you need to make a quick repair...

All the best to you and yours!

Only other thing I could think of is make sure the fuel tanks are full. Don't be afraid to use the onboard generator (if you have it) to run things at the house, if needed.

No hints, hurricanes are few and far in between here In Wisconsin, but I wish you good luck and hope you are all safe.

Happy to say, the B did great! No leaks either!
It was down to a weak Cat2/Cat1 by the time it got here...
